When Freud Met Jung


On this day, 110 years ago, Sigmund Freud and Carl Gustav Jung, two giants in the field of psychoanalysis, met for the first time in Vienna, Austria. The meeting of the minds reportedly lasted for more than 13 hours. The Vienna rendezvous cemented a brief, intense friendship between the two men that began with a series of letters in the years preceding the visit. Their correspondence first began when Jung, 20 years Freud’s junior, sent his “Studies in Word Association” to Freud.
 Two years after Freud and Jung finally met, the duo toured the U.S. together, which culminated in what the American Psychological Association calls “the most famous conference in the history of American psychology.” Despite the mutual affinity the men shared for each other, their friendship was short-lived.

Oscars 2017: Best reactions on Warren Beatty’s major goof-up


Someone is getting fired tonight because there was a major disaster at Oscars 2017 that took place tonight. Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway apparently got the wrong card when they opened their envelope to announce tonight’s winner of Best Picture. When Beatty opened the envelope on stage, he appeared to either be confused or that he couldn’t exactly read what was written. Dunaway ended up making the La La Land announcement. What followed was a heart-stopping moment the stars and producers of La La Land were stopped midway through their acceptance speeches, before being forced to hand their trophies to the stars of Moonlight that actually won the award.
 The terrible end to the show left the audience gasping in horror, stunned by the mishap.
