Google sniffs out an April Fool's joke with Google Nose

Every year Google tries to outdo itself in pulling April Fool pranks. The hoax Google product launch of April 1, 2013 is Google Nose, which Google says is "The new scentsation in search". According to the product description, Google Nose, that is still in beta, leverages new and existing technologies to offer the sharpest olfactory experience available. Google's Street Sense vehicles have inhaled and indexed millions of atmospheric miles and Android Ambient Odour Detection collects smells via the world's most sensible mobile operating system. Google Nose also includes SMELLCD 1.8+ high-resolution compatible (whatever that is) for precise and controlled odours. With Google Nose users can go beyond type, talk, and touch for a new notation of sensation. The Google Knowledge Panels can pair images, descriptions, and aromas. Google Nose search also includes SafeSearch, to keep users away from unwarranted smells.
