Croatian President Proposes Cutting Politicians' Wages

President Ivo Josipovic says politicians should have their expenses and salaries cut as an expression of public solidarity. Speaking to daily newspaper Slobodna Dalmacija, Josipovic said: "Cutting politicians’ expenses sends out a clear message of solidarity. "We can rethink decisions about buying new cars and even think about cutting our salaries. "These measures would be a good way of expressing social solidarity." he said.
