When someone tries to snatch the sheep of a South African farmer, the sheep call home.

To prevent theft, a famer in South Africa has equipped his flock with devices that call his personal cell phone. The mechanisms hang around the necks of four sheep (one in each flock) and are rigged to phone home when the sheep run. Since sheep are inclined to just stroll and graze, the farmer, Erard Louw of the Cape Town suburbs, knows trouble is afoot when he gets a call from one of his animals. "As they run it gives me a phone call and says 'sheep one' or 'sheep two' and so on, so at least I know where to start looking because the farm is 750 hectares (1,850 acres),"
Louw told the Cape Times Daily.
