Secret story of brave Bing who served behind enemy lines on D-Day

Bing, an Alsatian-cross (pictured, right), served with the 13th Parachute Battalion and went on to be awarded the animal equivalent of the Victoria Cross. He was given to the army at the outbreak of World War Two because rationing meant his owners, who lived in Essex, could no longer afford to keep him. Author Gil Boyd has now written a book about Bing's story which includes the illustration of him parachuting (left).
