How many actors half kill themselves, love gardening and pour money into poetry? Just one.
"We’re here to talk about Sigmund Freud – or rather, Mortensen’s portrayal of him in David Cronenberg’s film A Dangerous Method. Adapted by Christopher Hampton from his play The Talking Cure, it’s about the friendship and subsequent split between the two fathers of psychoanalysis, Freud and Jung (Michael Fassbender) – a split partly prompted by Jung’s relationship with a patient, Sabina Spielrein (Keira Knightley).
It seems an unusual role for Mortensen, not least because he doesn’t do any of the things he tends to do in movies: ride a horse, wield a sword, roll around naked on the floor with another man, or stomp his foot into someone’s throat."
