Croatia loses 100 million Euros due to corruption

The Croatian government has added up all corruption affairs bringing the total of the money stolen from the state to 750 million kunas (101.5 million Euros), the daily Jutarnji List writes.
The government included these totals in its third and latest report on progress in fulfilling all measures specified in the European Union negotiations chapter 23 on judiciary. The report will be presented to the ambassadors of European Union countries today (Fri).
The report does not contain concrete cases apart from several that illustrate the government’s determination to put an end to corruption in the highest places, such as the case of former Prime Minister, Ivo Sanader.
The document contains all judiciary measures implemented in the last 5-6 years.
The goal of the report is to prove the efficacy of the Croatian judiciary, and it is not common to list all the cases, the daily writes.
