Lola ya Bonobo sanctuary in the Democratic Republic of Congo

 "Bonobos (formerly known as pygmy chimpanzees) are the rarest and most endangered of all the great apes. Their in our own lifetime is a real possibility; it is estimated that the number of bonobos left in the wild is somewhere around 10,000 - all of them in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Bonobos and chimpanzees are our closest living relatives; like chimpanzees, bonobos share 98.7% of our DNA."
