Egypt shark attacks: authorities 'ignored warnings they had caught wrong predator'

"On Sunday, a 70 year-old German woman, was killed as she snorkelled close to the shore in the tourist resort. The attack was the fifth in the area in a week.
Witnesses, including a British mother-of-two, reported in graphic detail how they heard the victim screaming but they could not see the victim because the shark’s thrashing, as well as her blood, made it impossible to see.
The attack brought panic to thousands of British holidaymakers and other tourists enjoying the winter sun. he day before, the authorities had declared the sea safe after capturing two sharks blamed for the earlier attacks.
But a local conservation group smelled a rat. They noticed that photos taken by a diver of the shark responsible for the second attack suggested the wrong one had been caught."
