Brave dog saves owner from a brown bear

"A brave dog in Croatia has saved his owner from a brown bear. German terrier Hogar noticed a brown bear approaching the shelter where his adventurous owner Vladimir Smojver was sleeping in the woods of Gorski Kotar in western Croatia. Vladimir Smojver got up and noticed a huge brown bear some ten metres in front of him. Daily newspaper Jutarnji List reported that the adventurer decided to take a photo which just served to anger the bear. The animal came within just one metre of Vladimir Smojver and stood up on its hind legs, poised to attack. The man'S dog then intervened, biting the bear's leg and running around the wild animal which then left, leaving Vladimir Smojver alone. Hogar the dog is used to going on adventures with his owner, and has already experienced paragliding, skiing and been out in a kayak."
