Josip Klarica (1947) graduated from the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in 1974. Throughout his career he engaged in propaganda photography, fine art photography, and also worked as a camera operator. As a fine art photographer, he studied the history of photography techniques and photochemical processes. He successfully reconstructed several old photography techniques and made a replica of panoramic camera dating from 1845. The conjunction of old photography practices and modern artistic sensibility resulted in interesting and distinguishable works of art, poetic visions of landscape and inventive nature morte embedded with symbolic meaning.
He lives and works in Zagreb.
