
"ZAGREB, CROATIA – The fourth day of October marks the International Animal Protection Day. The city department for agriculture and forestry organised a suitable programme at Zagreb`s Lake Bundek. The sole objective of the celebration was to emphasise the importance of a positive relationship with animals, as well as to remind of the injustice towards them throughout the world.
Zagreb Mayor Milan Bandic, who is a dog owner himself, especially stressed the significance of
properly taking care of pets. Pet owners should accept the responsibility for their health and provide them with love and care.
Many animal protection associations presented themselves at Lake Bundek, which decided to inform the public about animal health care and diet of individual species.
The International Animal Protection Day is envisioned as a celebration of he unique relationship people and their pets have."
