How it is possible that this size of drone was not shot down ?
Zagreb's mayor Tomislav Tomasevic said "it's amazing that no-one was injured".
Croatia's president said there was no sign the country had been targeted.
Markings on the debris included Cyrillic lettering and a five-pointed star. Local experts said these suggested that the drone was a Soviet-era TU-141 reconnaissance aircraft.
Croatia's government confirmed that the drone had passed over Hungary, which borders both Ukraine and Croatia, before crashing in Zagreb.
President Zoran Milanovic said it was a serious incident: "We need to review certain procedural issues and determine how it is possible that this size of plane was not shot down on the way from Ukraine to Zagreb."
He was concerned that Croatia had received no warning of the incoming drone, even though it had spent the best part of an hour flying across Hungary - a fellow member of Nato. He was alarmed that "an unsophisticated aircraft" had apparently evaded detection.
There is now concern that Croatia would not be ready if the worst happened and the conflict spread. Critics point out that no air raid sirens sounded in Zagreb and that many Croatian shelters have fallen into disrepair.

Zagreb is ready to accept refugees from Ukraine
Zagreb Mayor Tomislav Tomasevic said on Friday that the city was "absolutely ready" to accept refugees from Ukraine and that it was possible to provide them with accommodation at the hostel Loda in Skradin, which is part of the Vladimir Nazor branch of the Zagreb Holding multi-utility conglomerate.
Tomasevic said that, in consultation with the Zagreb Holding management, he approved the request of the head of the Sibenik-Knin County civil protection team, who today requested accommodation for potential refugees from Ukraine in Skradin.
The mayor said the City of Zagreb would make a few more locations available for the accommodation of refugees, depending on the needs.
Croatia was the victim of a brutal military aggression of the Slobodan Milošević regime 30 years ago, it knows best what that means and understands Ukraine.

The City of Zagreb has issued a statement about crow attacks on humans.
Zagreb crows usually keep themselves to themselves, rummaging around looking for food or getting into sometimes comical altercations with local pigeons.
These highly intelligent birds tend to avoid people, but when they're nesting, they're known for their potential for aggression.
An official warning has been issued from the City of Zagreb following numerous crow attacks on humans.

Zagreb’s healing heart
Zagreb’s healing heart (Voona for Okolo // Around festival, photo Borut Planinc)
While volunteers, authorities, civil protection, military and ordinary citizens organised to help their fellow residents in need, messages of support from Croatia and all over the world flooded social media, but one in particular stood out and quickly became the symbol of hope and healing for Zagreb residents – a patched wool heart covering a cracked facade of an old Zagreb building.
The healing heart originally was conceived last August as a street art intervention by Zagreb based artist & designer Ivona (Voona Design) as a part of a street art project Okolo // Around.
The heart-shaped wool piece placed on top of a wall crack was exhibited in Habdeliceva 1 on Zagreb’s Upper Town during the project and remains there until this day.
The original idea behind the art had nothing to do with the catastrophe, the artist revealed – it was to show imperfections as something unique and not ugly but authentic and alive.
But after Sunday, March 22 a new layer of meaning has been added to her art piece – people saw it as a message of hope for their wounded town and Ivona commented on her Instagram: Sadly, many Zagreb residents have lost their homes – the first informal estimates say around 7000 objects were struck and the reparations will last 2 to 7 years.
Zagreb bounced back after the devastating 1880 earthquake and will bounce back again thanks to the spirit and unity of the people.

The Morning After the Night Before
At 9 am, the National Civil Protection Headquarters held a press conference, briefing the public on the latest about the coronavirus crisis in Croatia, as well as the terrible earthquake that hit Zagreb on Sunday.
Index.hr reports that the Headquarters is dealing with two crises, Minister Bozinovic said.
"Our records show that 27 were injured in the quake, 18 of which were more serious. Twelve were hospitalized. The 15-year-old girl is in critical condition," he added. "According to the earthquake report, there were 37 earthquakes between 6 am Sunday and 6 am this morning, which is expected," Bozinovic added.
He warned that citizens should be careful because Zagreb is now a seismologically active area.
"The services have shown a high degree of organization and activity and I thank them all," Bozinovic concluded.
Coronavirus update
Minister Beros said that as of Sunday at 4 pm, Croatia had 52 new cases, which is a total of 306 on Monday morning. "The Headquarters have decided to raise the work of epidemiological services to the highest level. All epidemiologists are on standby," Capak added. Minister Beros said that the health status of the patients had not deteriorated. Five people are on a respirator.
