Are floating cities our future?

It makes sense that the Netherlands is the nation testing the waters when it comes to floating homes, given the country's green ethos and history of innovative design. The country is also the lowest lying in Europe, making sea level rise a very real threat.
But it isn't just floating houses the Dutch are experimenting with.

A Year After the Zagreb Earthquake

Today is a year since the earthquake that hit Zagreb and its surroundings, and most of the damaged buildings have not yet been rebuilt. That Sunday morning, March 22, will be long remembered by the citizens of Zagreb and its surroundings. At 6 hours and 24 minutes, many were awakened by a magnitude 5.5 earthquake. Two more powerful earthquakes soon followed.
Every single person living in Zagreb can tell you their story of the potres of 2020.
Here's a story by Iva Tatić, told through the lens of one building, on the corner of Đorđićeva and Petrinjska street.

How We Lifted Flight from Bird Evolution

On December 17 in 1903, the Wright brothers achieved what humans had dreamed about since the earliest days of our species: soaring through the air.
For millennia, visionaries watched birds take wing and wondered how they might do the same.
Notes and inspiration from bird flight were integral in helping people finally achieve the goal, but our version of flying — as well as how we got there — contrasts starkly with that of birds.
While human flight came about through intense focus on a singular goal, flight in birds evolved incrementally over millions of years without direction.
The path to modern birds was full of forks, twists and dead-ends.

My Colleague, the Antichrist By Jack Handey

I knew the Antichrist. We worked together in New York, at a major investment bank.
(Due to the nondisclosure agreements we had to sign, neither the Antichrist nor myself can disclose which investment bank.) The Antichrist was a pretty good guy, but, when we went for drinks after work, if he got drunk he’d start ranting on and on about how he was going to rule the world and how we’d all bow down and worship him. You wanted to say, “Give it a rest, Antichrist.”
Plus, he would conveniently make himself scarce just before the bill came. Another annoying thing about the Antichrist was that he was always complaining that our department was not committing enough abominations. But the Antichrist was not without his good points.
When my girlfriend dumped me, he said, “Don’t worry, there are plenty of other harlots in the sea.” And he was a great coach for our softball team, the Evil, Vicious Bluebirds (formerly the Bluebirds). He had us focus on what he called the “three basics”: good fielding, good hitting, and leading our opponents astray. Imagine my surprise when I saw him on the big TV in Times Square.
He was on all the TVs, in fact, saying that he was the new ruler.
