Colorful Portraits of Adoptable Dogs

Photographer Paul Octavious casts new light on Chicago’s adoptable dogs through a collaboration with PAWS, the city’s largest no-kill animal shelter. Octavious, an editorial and commercial photographer, explained to Colossal that he was on a shoot for NBC when he thought to pair the vibrant HUE lighting setup with rescue pups that were set to be photographed with characters from a NBC TV show. Octavious ended up spotlighting the animals themselves with the HUE lighting, resulting in these colorful portraits, and he has continued to volunteer his time helping to get Chicago’s homeless pets adopted with his ResHue Dog series.

She loves bananas and spending time outside. She’s very smart and will sit by the door that can access the outdoors almost every night waiting to be let out. By the morning she can always be found back inside, sound asleep in her enclosure. Her keepers say Piper is the prettiest porcupine they’ve ever had - and one of the sweetest!

MDK9 Dog Haus

This dog house by Los Angeles-based furniture design and manufacturing studio RAH:DESIGN looks like a contemporary home in miniature size. After searching for a suitable dog house to put in their home and finding nothing, founder Rahil Taj, who has a background in architectural design, decided to design one utilizing the techniques and materials used in modern homes today.
They partnered with Modern House Numbers to create the name plaque and Jax and Bones to develop a range of custom dog bedding.
The dog house is not cheap, costing around $3,600, but if money is no object then definitely go for this stylish addition to your home.
