Whether trapped in blocks of ice or sailing across the ocean, Makoto’s work constantly tests the boundaries of how—and where—flowers may thrive.

 

Animal Sculptures, Kirsty Elson

For Kirsty Elson, a sliver of driftwood or a scrap of metal is more than just a piece of detritus or trash. She sees a sleepy goat in some old nails and hunks of worn timber or a docile and curious donkey from rusty rods and brush bristles.

 Elson has long been attracted to found objects, giving old elements new life.

Isaac Cordal

In the vibrant heart of Madrid’s Barrio de las Letras, Isaac Cordal’s exhibition “Tiempos Muertos,” more aptly understood as “Idle Times,” debuted at the ON Art Space on Calle Santa Maria 37. 

Hailing from Pontevedra, Galicia, and currently residing in Bilbao, Cordal is celebrated for his distinctively satirical and somewhat melancholic view of our societal landscape.

Functional Whale Sculpture

French artist Jean Jullien designed a functional whale sculpture. While it looks like a flat drawing on one side, it is actually three-dimensional. 

The large blowhole provides plenty of uses, like holding flowers, plants, and pencils.
