"Croatia's Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic has revealed to Croatian daily newspaper Jutarnji List that the government has launched an initiative to prepare a new legal framework for same-sex relationships. Under the new law, homosexual partners will be able to marry in the future, thus giving them equal rights as heterosexual marriages, but they will not be able to adopt children. It still remains unanswered whether one partner will be allowed to adopt the biological child of another partner. "I think we must go forward, and be inspired by the most advanced countries in the world. Giving stronger civil legal rights to gay communities will not deprive anyone of their rights. The essence is the fact that it is a circle of people who are also members of our community, that need more legal certainty. We need to talk openly and transparently about it, because human rights are simply human rights, said the Croatian PM."

It's interesting to see how the world is changing. We are having the same debate in Australia.
