The Museum of Broken Relationships, which opens tonight (Tues) in the city centre, displays exhibits donated by lovers who want to illustrate their bitter break ups.
Exhibits include an axe a distressed lesbian lover used to chop up an ex-girlfriend's furniture after she left her for another woman, a broken down yellow Vespa scooter one lover bought in the hope he and his ex would ride around on as if in a romantic Italian film, and a coffee machine which a woman gave away because it reminded her of an old flame who was more devoted to caffeine than he was to her.
The idea for the museum came when two Zagreb-based artists Olinka Vistica and Drazen Grubisic split up and wanted to do something creative with the vestiges of their relationship."
