Every year, at the beginning of January, the results of the World Design Rankings are announced in arts, architecture and design. Based on the number of designers that have been awarded with an A’ Design Award, the ratings reveal the countries with the most awards. A’ Design Award is an annual award and competition celebrating the best designers, architects and design-oriented companies worldwide. This year, the United States take the first place with 249 received design awards in total, followed by Turkey, Hong Kong, Italy and China. Last year, it was Turkey, which topped the list and this time, there are also five new countries on the list, such as Pakistan, Bangladesh, Colombia, Swaziland, Qatar and Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
