Thomas Piketty visited Zagreb

French economist Thomas Piketty, the author of the globally successful academic study "Capital in the Twenty-first Century" held a lecture yesterday at Zagreb's Croatian National Theatre where he presented and discussed his book. During the lecture Piketty said that the euro area required democratic governance concerning the deficit level if the European Union wished to continue with the single currency - the euro. Thomas Piketty was the guest of the Philosophical Theatre thus confirming its quality as being the most significant intellectual programme in Croatia and the central place for critical debates that surpass both the theatrical and national framework.
