A 58-year woman from the Dalmatian town of Šibenik who made headline news on Monday after completing a ‘James Bond-esque’ jump in her Peugeot over the raised Tisno bridge, has been slapped with a 250 kuna (32 euros) fine by police.
Šibenik police spokeswoman Marica Kosor confirmed that the woman was fined after she ‘jumped’ the bridge, which was raised around two and a half metres, at around 9:00am on Monday morning, despite saying in her defence that she did not notice the bridge was raised because of the strong sun glare which was in her eyes.
The bridge, which connects the island of Murter with Tisno, is raised twice daily, at 9:00 and 17:00, so boats can pass through the canal.via
