" Everyone who is a thief must end up in prison." said Jadranka Kosor

"Commenting on media headlines that her election campaigns had been allegedly financed by the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) slush fund, Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor said on Sunday that everyone who was a thief and everyone who had stolen must end up in prison.
"Most certainly those who had taken the money, had that really happened, must face justice, regardless of the price we have to pay at this moment," the prime minister said, adding that it was not easy to answer such questions.

She stressed that as long as she was at the helm of the government and the HDZ, the fight against corruption would continue.

"This will be a whole-hearted fight against corruption, and what is happening right now is in a way a response of some to me, but this will not intimidate me," the PM said at Zagreb's Mimara Museum at a ceremony commemorating the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States.

Kosor expressed her full support to the work of the Chief State Prosecutor's Office, the anti-corruption agency USKOK and the police."
