Sumo Wrestler Might Break Marathon Record

"Kelly Gneiting, who weighs 405 pounds and has won three American sumo national championships, will become the heaviest marathon runner ever if he completes the Los Angeles marathon this Sunday. His goal is to complete the marathon in less than nine hours. Gneigting, a hospital statistician, previously ran a marathon in 2008 but did not break the record then because he was not in contact the Guiness Book of World Records beforehand. (Guiness requires that he be filmed and weighed before and after the race.) He said he wanted to run the race to inspire "people who are overweight, have low self-esteem and think they can't achieve things," Gneiting said."
