Three Croatian traditions recognized as intengible world heritage

"Three Croatian traditions have been enlisted under UNESCO’s protection as pieces of world heritage at a recent conference held in Nairobi (Kenya).

The Alka knight tournament, the making of traditional sweets (licitarstvo) and a special method of singing (ojkanje) have been recognized as customs both worthy and needy of the institution’s protections.

With ten of its traditions on the list, Croatia has the highest number of UNESCO-recognized 'intangible' world heritages in the whole of Europe."
