Weedy sea dragon

Living alongside the seahorses, puffer fish and manta rays off Australia's south coast is an even most bizarre creature, the weedy sea dragon. Its tiny fins beat frantically to prevent it being washed away and it feeds on tiny crustaceans. Prior to mating, a pair of weedies will perform an amazing dance, mirroring each other's actions. After mating they will guard their eggs day and night - for up to a month - in the spongy tissue on the male's tail.
