After a leisurely afternoon meal, Baby camel asks Mama camel, "Why do we have such big feet, ma?"
To which she replies, "They keep us from sinking into the sand as we traverse the deserts, little one."
Satisfied, Baby nods her head, then asks, "Mama, why do we have such long eyelashes?"
Mama camel says, "Well, hon, long lashes keep the desert sands from injuring our eyes, especially during storms."
Again Baby is content with the answer, but asks, "Thanks ma, but why do we have such huge humps on our backs?"
"The humps are where we store our food and water for the long treks across the deserts, my sweet little one," patiently explains mama camel.
A smile of understanding spreads across Baby's face, but it's soon replaced by a confused frown.
"Okay mama," Baby asks, "that's all well and good, but what the heck are we doing at the Fort Myers Zoo... in Florida?"
