We should not support organizations like these, this baby was taken from his mom simply for business, it is sickening how the animal world works, and the story about the other males rejecting the baby is completely false they just need a story, we need to be aware of what we support and this institute is nooo sanctuary if you want to help orangs help the ones that truly are orphaned in borneo and sumatra not places that have breeding farms and take the babys from their moms and sell them to places to be exploited pleaseeee people do youre research and dont support these organizations
Of course that I do not support the organizations which rob animals, because of business. Reading the article I have gained the impression that they care about endangered animals. Obviously I had wrong impression , I'm glad that you warned me on that.
yesss this organization praises on conservation but they bought this orangutan who can easily sell for 80 grand just to make money out of him isnt it hypocritical to talk about conservation when ur doing just the opposite??? it gets me sooo mad!
This in an interesting question. Do zoos and sanctuaries like this play a part in preserving endangered species? Or are we humans just profiting from animals?
The stunningly beautiful animals like Orangutans, capture peoples attention, and I hope that they become more willing to learn about critical conservation issues. Beautiful, cute or dramatic images of exotic animals doing anything can catch ones eye, they are the calling card that can spark interest in the natural world. Great Apes are important living examples and reminders of the environmental problems facing the world, which makes them the perfect wildlife ambassadors. The public loves novelty more than normalcy and always will. This story is full of good info about the palm oil industry that is the real threat to orangutans and the forests they live in.How can it not be a good thing to have millions here about this via the mass media?
yes it is very true what you are saying orangutans are extremely endangered and it is soo crucial to create awareness but i personally know the story of this baby, he was taking from his mom to be exploited and just make money for this so called organization their are millions of other ways to help these endangered animals what they are doing is just making the situation worse.

I agree with you Parlance, it is a very interesting question and there are no simple answers.
