Baby Tapir from Wildlife Reservation

"Tapirs live in South America and Asia. They are nocturnal animals and they seek food at night, while they sleep during the day.
Only four types of this plant-eating animal are left in the world. A large number of tapirs end up victims of poachers because their skin is very much valued.
Because of this reason, the guards at the Wildlife Reservation in Sungai Dusun in Malaysia are overwhelmed with their one-year-old baby tapir.
The tapir named Suraya was photographed by the public for the first time. See the photos HERE."

'Funny animals'?! Tapirs aren't funny - they are just unusual :)

Having said this, I also posted those pics on my blog last night, as they really are so adorable.

For those who care (and you all should, as it's important), 27 April is World Tapir Day. As the article you linked to points out, there aren't many tapirs left, so it's definitely time to help raise awareness of their plight. If little Suraya can help to get tapirs some attention, all the better :)
