10 Most Fascinating Dogs

Faith: The bipedal dog
Faith Stringfellow is an amazing little dog who suffered from a birth defect. The mother dog was actually trying to terminate Faith's life when she was rescued from a teenager boy. She only had one front leg and it had to be removed when she was 7 months because it was starting to atrophy. Faith has learned to stand and walk on her two back legs like a human.

It’s not all that unusual to see a dog stand up to greet their loved ones, but Faith remains upright and actually gets around this way. She may be the worlds first and only biped canine. Faith is now a therapy dog and makes public appearance to encourage others to live to their full potential."

Chanel, the world's oldest dog, enjoys her 21st birthday party

"The world's oldest dog proved she was a real party animal by celebrating her 21st birthday with a big bash and a cake, a Guinness World Records spokesman said today.

New Yorker Chanel is 147 in dog years. She struggles to see, hear and walk, but the off-white Daschund-cross, is still able to enjoy the finer things in life.

Her owners Karl and Denise Shaughnessy from Long Island like to dress her up in little jumpers and sunglasses or 'doggles' to protect her ancient eyes from the sun's glare."

Puppy Biting

Dr. Ian Dunbar

Puppy biting is a normal, natural, and necessary puppy behavior. Puppy play-biting is the means by which dogs develop bite inhibition and a soft mouth. The more your puppy bites and receives appropriate feedback, the safer his jaws will be in adulthood. It is the puppy that does not mouth and bite as a youngster whose adult bites are more likely to cause serious damage.

At the morning roll call at Fort Dix...

The sergeant called out, 'Platoon, atten-HUT!
Private Martinez, report to the office. Your brother died last night.
' The Chaplain, Rabbi Horowitz, looked on in horror.
'Sergeant,' he said afterwards, 'that's a rather cruel and unfeeling way to break tragic news.
We must be more gentle and less abrupt in the future,' The sergeant shrugged. 'Yes sir.
I'll try to remember that.' He didn't look very convinced.
Several days later, a call came in about another family death.
As the troops were assembling for roll call, the Chaplain stepped forward.
'Let me take this one, sergeant', he said.
He turned toward the sleepy-looking soldiers and said, 'Platoon, atten-HUT !'
They came to attention. 'Good morning, men!' he said. 'Good morning, sir', they replied.
'Men, today is Mother's Day, and I hope all of you will be calling home
to send your moms a loving thought. In fact, all of you who are fortunate enough
to still have a mother who's alive and well, take two steps forward.
Private Jones; not so fast!'"

A frugal virus

"The New York Times is now reporting it’s possible to catch swine flu from money.
They say the virus can live on a $20 bill for more than 10 days.
So, not only is the virus contagious, it’s also very frugal."
