Second Olympic gold for Croatia
After Sandra Perkovic's gold medal on Saturday, Croatia only had to wait another 48 hours before it won its second gold medal at the London Olympics. Giovanni Cernogoraz has won the Olympic shooting gold medal in the men's trap in a shoot-off yesterday (Mon).
Cernogoraz went into the finals in last place, making his victory even more sensational. Even the Croatian Olympic Committee did not expect the 28 year-old to win a medal, let alone gold, writes website 24sata.
The Croatian shooter had a flawless final, from 25 shots, 24 were perfect on the clay pigeons. Cernogoraz was the best, but as the competition counted scores from qualifying, he had to have a shoot-off with world champion Massimo Fabbrizi. The Italian missed his sixth target giving the Croatian gold.
